M-A School Year to End Early

1 min read

Last Wednesday, an email from M-A’s administration confirmed their plan to wrap up the academic year on May 29th. With this new end date in mind, the school will not be having a spring semester finals week (June 1-4); students can, however, expect some form of cumulative assessment in each class, which according to the administration should “wrap up the week of May 26th.” The final week of remote learning will begin on Tuesday the 26th, given that Monday the 25th is Memorial Day. The elimination of the traditional finals week leaves time for a “Senior Week” with district organized events, as detailed below:

June 1st:Commit to your Future Day: Seniors, wear apparel that demonstrates how you will commit to your future! Parents, staff, and 9th, 10th, and 11th grade M-A students, please also help us honor students by wearing apparel that represents your choice of college, career, or workforce.” The administration requests that seniors upload photos of their participation to this folder.

June 2nd:Awards Night! We are planning a virtual awards night to honor the amazing achievements and accomplishments of seniors (and include some junior awards as well).” The ceremony will begin at 7:00pm.

June 3rd:The PTA and M-A staff are planning a community celebration and recognition of our seniors. Plans are in the works to make this a memorable graduation week for seniors and our hope is that the entire M-A community will participate to honor them. Stay tuned for details.”
