By the Numbers: A Breakdown of M-A’s Diversity

“Menlo-Atherton: By the Numbers” was initially published in the March issue of The Mark. Staff members reached out to M-A’s sports teams, extracurricular groups, and administrators to determine the racial makeup of each group. Chronicle staff writers Mitra Pezeshki and Aashka Popat transformed the data into an engaging video, below. The video has English and translated Spanish subtitles.

The Editorial Board is made up of Editors-in-Chief Sonia Freedman, Natalie Fishman, Sarah Weintraut, Cleo Rehkopf, and Dylan Lanier. It represents the general consensus of the staff.

Mitra Pezeshki is a senior and this is her first year writing for the M-A Chronicle. She has enjoyed the way that journalism can bring light to overlooked issues and involve her in the community. This year, she is excited to learn how to write different types of stories and utilize photo, video and other multimedia elements to make them more interesting.

Aashka Popat is a senior, and this is her first year as a journalist for the M-A chronicle. She enjoys learning how to write different types of articles and incorporating photos and multimedia into them as well as getting to connect with the people around her to learn more about the M-A community.
