Blog: Is Curry Taking Over as Best Player in the NBA?

1 min read

Lebron “King” James has been the best player in the NBA for the last decade, no question. But there is a new phenom in the National Basketball Association— Stephen Curry.

Stephen Curry is arguably the best shooter of all time and can literally spot up from anywhere and make a shot. Curry won most valuable player last year with an average of 24 points and 8 assists in 80 of the 82 regular season games. Lebron James averaged 25 points and 7 assists while only playing 69 games. It looks pretty similar, but don’t forget Curry led the Warriors to their first championship since 1975.

In the playoffs last year Curry skyrocketed. He averaged 28 points per game and 7 assists per game, beating Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in 6 games. People might say that there were a lot of injuries across all teams last year, which is true, but getting through the powerhouse that is the western conference is impressive nonetheless.

This year, Curry is already wowing me and a lot of others just 7 games through this year’s regular season. Curry leads the league with an average of 34 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists per game. Lebron James isn’t getting any younger and Stephen Curry just keeps improving every year.

Only time will tell when Curry takes hold and becomes the best player in the NBA. If he isn’t already.
