1 min read

On Saturday, April 16, the Bears varsity track & field teams traveled to Serra High School to compete against more than 25 schools in the Serra Top 7 Invitational. The Bears had a strong showing: the varsity boys placed sixth overall, and the girls placed first overall, making it the fourth year in a row that M-A girls track and field has won the meet.

Individually, freshman Maggie Hall, senior Kathryn Mohr, and senior Annalisa Crowe stood out in the girls team. Hall placed first in the 200 meter race, and second in the 100m. Her time in the 200m of 25.36 seconds is the 4th fastest in M-A history. Mohr won the pole vault event, breaking her own record M-A school record by jumping 12’4.

Mohr commented, “It was a really great meet. The weather was really nice, and it feels great to beat my own record.” Crowe won both the 800m and the 1600m, and set a meet record with her time in the 800m (2:14.31 seconds). In Coach Alan Perry’s words, “The girls had an amazing meet, and the boys weren’t far off from one either.”
