Old Hollywood Homecoming Dance

1 min read

After a week of spirit days and an impressive homecoming football game, M-A took over the Fox Theatre in Redwood City for the 2015 homecoming dance. The historic theatre set the scene perfectly for the old Hollywood theme.

Doors opened at 7:30p.m., with leadership students selling tickets at the door and checking people in. Doors were open until 9:00p.m., but by 8:30p.m. the dance floor was packed. Leadership sold 657 tickets, and students from each grade attended!

The DJ played a variety of songs, both old and new. He made some classic song choices such as the “Cha Cha Shuffle” by DJ Casper and this summer’s “anthem” “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” by Silentó. Regardless of the song being played, people had a great time and the danced throughout the night. The night continued with songs like “Come My Way” by Fetty Wap and “The Hills” by The Weeknd.

Throughout the dance people stepped out to the lobby area for some air, water, and popcorn. Students managed the water station, so there was no real order to the process.

Unfortunately, the popcorn that was being served was quickly finished at the beginning of the dance. However, M-A students did not let the lack of refreshments stop them from enjoying themselves.

The doors to re-opened at 10:30 p.m. It seemed that seniors left first, with the rest slowly trickling out.

Spirits were high this past week and M-A students ended the week on a high note at the Fox Theatre in Redwood City. Great job M-A leadership for putting on such a fantastic event—Go Bears!
