Breaking: Bears to Play Manteca in Northern California Division 3-AA Championship

1 min read

The Bears will be taking on Manteca High School in the Northern California Division 3-AA Championship on Friday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m. The game will be taking place at M-A, giving the team another opportunity to play in front of a home crowd. Ticket prices are $8.

Manteca beat Placer in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV Championship. Manteca has an overall record of 12-1 and is on a six-game winning streak. The Manteca team mostly relies on a one-two punch from senior running back Kameron Beamon and junior quarterback Gino Campiotti. It will be interesting to see how Manteca deals with a Bears defense that has produced amazing results throughout the playoffs and regular season. Campiotti, who has only thrown three interceptions on the year, will have to deal with a red-hot Bears defense that that has produced a turnover in every game this season.

M-A will most likely continue to rely on senior running back, Pacific Athletic League (PAL) Offensive MVP, and Central Coast Section (CCS) leading rusher, Jordan Mims. The Bears offensive line should be able to dominate the line of scrimmage and open up gaps for Mims. Quarterback Aajon Johnson will also look to get the offense going through the air by getting talented receivers Mekhi Blackmon, Aaron Johnson, Spencer Corona, and Tate Tussing involved.

The Bears look to continue their momentum and silence many critics who still rank them lower than other Central Coast Section (CCS) teams. Go support M-A at Coach Parks Field on Friday night or follow live updates on our twitter.
